Geminoid DK in Peru

We have travelled a lot, the Geminoid and I. Our trip to Peru made some lasting impressions for several reasons. The interest in the android was truly overwhelming. I was to give a keynote at conference on infrastructures and regional developments and take part in the ExpoTic Science Fair.

An estimated 25.000 extra visitors came to the exhibition to see the Geminoid, bringing the total count up to around 50.000 people over a couple of days. We were invited by the Lima Chamber of Commerce, and I think it is fair to say that they were  somewhat surprised at the immense response from the media and from the public.

Fun fact: At the height of the fair, more than 30 (!) security people were assigned to us.

Another fun fact: The crate containing the Geminoid was opened by customs officers when leaving the country. They contacted our hosts and asked for a death certificate for the person inside the crate.
